«Los del camino» (Those to the Way)
Los del Camino»—that is what the early Christians were called. This documentary series draws its name from that title, chronicling the memories of the pioneer missionaries in Colombia.

“Collecting these stories and telling them has a lot of value, because it is the visual memory that remains for another generation that may not even know where their faith comes from.

“The story and the video really left me very amazed, because I didn’t know or I didn’t have in my head what the evangelicals had gone through. I always saw how easy it was, I wasn’t clear about it.”
Marcela Ospina. Forum cinema assistant.
“They have had to pay a supremely high price, and they have done the work. If I’m honest, my wife and I are extremely moved. The truth is, I want to see the special more than once.”
Jhon Orcasitas. Forum cinema assistant.

Roots and Future
“In 2009, our vision was transformed.
Learning of the persecution faced by the Kogui indigenous people for their faith marked a turning point in our lives. We realized that, despite our years in the church, we were unaware of the true cost of the Gospel in Colombia.
It was a defining moment: we understood that to innovate and reach the unreached, we first had to look back. Today, we work to revitalize the Church by connecting the heritage of the pioneers with the challenges of the present

Since 1934, after the arrival of the first missionaries «Los Thompson», the seed of the gospel began to germinate in the Wayuu indigenous culture, located in northern Colombia. The growth of many preaching camps in the rancherias and the emergence of the first seminar for pastors, directed by the Wayuu themselves, are just some of the evident fruits that are abundant in this Guajira land today.

Kogui Indigenous-Christian Community (2012). In a village called «Trompito Alto», there is a Kogui-Christian church, whose members were expelled from the Sierra Nevada for professing faith in Christ. In 2015, the translation of the New Testament into their language was completed and today, there is a school there that teaches reading and writing in Kogui.

THE ROUTE
2014 Research
We began research about the history of the Evangelical church in Colombia. We discovered the felt need for audiovisual material about this topic to reach new generations.
2014 production begins
First trip to Pasto, Nariño. 80th anniversary of the Evangelical Church in Pasto. We filmed testimonies and images to tell the story of Mrs. Katherine Morgan and her family, which would become the first chapter of the series. AN UNEXPECTED FEMININE FORCE
2018 Chapter 1 Premiere
The series is launched with chapter one complete! The project was becoming a reality, we began to share it and received encouragement from the Lord to continue with the production of more chapters, sharing them for free with the church in Colombia.
2019 Video forums
We started visiting the churches in Bogotá, showing Chapter 1 and conducting Video forums. Joy and surprise were evident on the part of believers in becoming acquainted with the struggles and difficulties of the arrival of the gospel in Colombia.
2020 Virtual forums
With the COVID-19 crisis, that led to world wide confinement, God led us to conduct virtual forums, that have allowed more than 500 people to view de documentary and commenting about it, even being in different countries around the world.
2021 CHAPTER 2 PREMIERE
With a second chapter “Los del Camino” was actually a series. The story of the Kogui church was shocking, especially for many people unfamiliar with indigenous communities.
2023 Chapter 3 Premiere
With this third chapter, the series continues narrating memories of God’s work in territories far from the big cities. The Wayuu community was the first to see the documentary and for them, it was very encouraging and joyful. That is one of the tangible fruits of our work.
We continue showing these three documentaries through virtual and face-to-face spaces, and we ask God to continue supporting our with this ministry.
